Hester Miller, 79 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Joel and Carrie (Jackson) Cray and reared in Lake City, Florida. After Hester’s passing, her son Joseph passed shortly thereafter.
Hester was a member of the First Seventh-Day Adventist Church and served as an Usher. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan, had an interest in politics and enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Hester cared for generations of children, she loved her grandchildren immensely and many families were touched by her kind and loving spirit.
Hester leaves to celebrate her life and memory her daughter; Annette Miller-Brown, her husband Ernest Butler, her siblings; James (aka Jonnie) and his wife Estella, Philip and his wife Helen, Amos and his wife Elmira, Jesse and his wife Ruby, Rev. Zane and his wife Teresa, Carl and his wife Mabel, Ozell and his wife Betty, Perry, Selvin and his wife Thelma, Ephram and his wife Rosetta, Sterling and his wife Alice, Murral and his wife Beverly, Aleasa and her husband James, Carrie and her husband Frank, Bertha and her husband Barry, Lucile and her husband Sylvester and Sallie, her grandchildren; Whitney and Tiffany Jefferies, Caila Butler and Shalamar Wiley and a host of relatives and friends.
A viewing and visitation will be held at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. All necessary COVID-19 restrictions will be in place. www.hooperfuneral.com.
