Hawthorne B. Traynham, 85, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in Golden Living Nursing Center. Hawthorne retired from New Cumberland Army Depot in Security and loved hunting and fishing. He leaves to celebrate his life and memory his former wife Gerleana P. Callahan and children; Calvin Callahan of Virginia, Vanessa Traynham of Maryland and Judy Simmons of York, siblings; Elbert and Wilbert Traynham both of Georgia, Edith Jackson of Florida and Claire Adams of New York, Etta Garcia and Elaine Smith both of Delaware, several grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 in Hooper Memorial Home at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. and burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family is appreciative for the many other acts of kindness and support shown to them during their time of bereavement.
