Hamilton Ralph Mason Sr.

Hamilton R. Mason Sr., 88 of Harrisburg passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25,2023 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Harrisburg to the late Ralph Wright and Eulalia Mason- Mitchem.

“Hampy” or “Pop” which he was affectionately known by was a dedicated employee for the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years. He served honorably in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. Hamp loved cooking, all kinds of sports including bowling, tennis, women’s football league and was an Indianapolis Colts, Miami Heat, and LA Lakers fan. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded by his wife of 38 years Shirley Mason, stepfather John Mitchem Sr., siblings; Inez Simpson, Ralph Wright, Juanita Chisolm, Robert Wright, Evon Floyd, Landonia Vaughan, Maxine Wright, William Wright, and John Mitchem Jr. He leaves to celebrate his life children, Yvonne Whitney, Hamilton Mason Jr., Keith Mason, Rosa King, siblings; Alton Wright, Lucille Ray, Kenneth Wright, Althea Manning, Eleanor Knight, Dianne Knight, Karen Hill, Kenneth Mitchem, 7 grands, several great-grand, 3 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
