Gwendolyn L. Bass

Gwendolyn L. Bass, 85, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in Harrisburg Hospital. Mrs. Bass was a member of Capital Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deaconess. Gwendolyn also had memberships with Harrisburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was a Charter Member of Omnia Bona, Inc. Harrisburg Chapter, the NAACP and enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and community service. Gwendolyn retired in 1988 from the Harrisburg School District as a Guidance Counselor with 20 years of dedicated service. She leaves to celebrate her life and memory, daughter Sara Patricia Bass-Jones, son Charles C. Bass Jr. and daughter-in-law Olive M. Bass, 3 grandchildren; Charles C. Bass III, Clifton L. and Cristina L. Bass all of Harrisburg, including very special friends; Ann Dora Beck and Jessica Butler both of Harrisburg as well as a host of relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. at 1:00 p.m. The Bass and Jones family are appreciative of the many acts of kindness shown to them during their time of bereavement.
