Gloria M. Anderson

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, Gloria Marie Anderson made her peaceful transition to be with the Lord.

Born on August 4, 1930, in Harrisburg, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clyde and Dorothy Broadus.

Gloria was a devoted and long-standing member of First Zion Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Mother of the Church and was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary. Her service to the church was marked by unwavering love and sincere dedication.

She was well known for her legendary pound cakes, which brought joy to many.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon T. Anderson, Jr., and her son, Stanley Anderson (Jeanette). 

She leaves behind to cherish her memory four children: Patrice M. Beasley, wife of Joseph H. Beasley III; Karen Simpson (Hubie); Tina Frye, wife of Robert Frye; and one son, Stacey T. Anderson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren, and her brother, Alphonso Broadus (Cathy) of Harrisburg.

We take comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of God.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Zion Baptist Church on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at William Howard Day Cemetery.
