GERALDINE A. JORDAN, who was also fondly known as Gerry to those who knew her well, left her earthly home to live in her heavenly home with her Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus on the 23rd day of August of 2005.
Geraldine was born on August 21, 1922 in Harrisburg, PA. to William H. and Mary C. Lawrence. She was educated in the Harrisburg School System and graduated from the former John Harris High School in 1940.
Geraldine attended The First Spirit Filled Missionary Baptist Church. She served the Lord well both as a Church Mother and a faithful member of the Hospitality Committee.
She enjoyed hobbies like painting, crafts, and was especially proficient at her favorite pastime cooking.
Geraldine was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Aunt to all that cherish her memory.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert A. Jordan, her infant son, Ronald Jordan, her sister, Romayne Rodgers, and her brother, Ophie Lawrence, Sr.
Geraldine leaves to forever cherish her memory seven daughters:
Stephanie L. Holloway (Norman), Patricia A. Lawrence, Cheryn L. Lawrence, Cynthia M. Braddy (Harvey), Kimberly J. Beasley (Tyrone, Sr.) all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; also Lenora C. Jordan, of New Jersey, and Pamela D. Herrington (Dino), of Georgia. Three sons: Robert W. Lawrence (Brenda), Steven A. Jordan, and David R. Jordan, all of Harrisburg. Her fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Altamae Lawrence, and Barbara A. Garlington, and a host of relatives and friends who lovingly remember her.
Services will be held at The First Spirit Filled Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, August 29, 2005. Viewing will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m. in her church located at 2609 Locust Lane.
