"When I come to the end of my journey and traveled my last weary mile." George J. Williams, Jr., 62, of Harrisburg, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, May 8, 2011 with his family at his side. George was a Heavy Machine Operator and retired from John Gulisek Construction Co. He was a member of The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, member of the Usher Board, a member of Operating Engineers Local #66 and Chosen Friends Lodge #43, F&M, Prince Hall. George leaves to celebrate his life and memory his children; Diane Simmons and Shane Bryant of Georgia, and George R. Williams of Harrisburg, predeceased by his former wife, Kathleen R. Williams and he also leaves his siblings; Betty Crankfield, Georgia Covington, Katie McClendon and James P. Williams all of Harrisburg, and Nathaniel Williams of Georgia, 4 grandchildren and a host of family members and friends. Services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at his church, 212 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. and burial in Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811, Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill. The family is appreciative of the many acts of kindness shown to them during their time of bereavement and Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. is caring for and handling arrangements for Mr. Williams.
