George F. Mitchell Sr.

George Frederick Mitchell Sr. left this world for a far better place on March 7th, 2019 with his oldest sister by his side. He was born in Farmington West Virginia to the Late George Frederick and Ruth Elizabeth Mitchell. He was the third born of their seven children and apart of the 1961 Farmington High School graduating class where he excelled in mathematics, basketball and football.

He was a man with many skills and great strength working in various faucets of manufacturing, bar tending and cooking. George loved to attend church and was a God Fearing Man. The last church he attended was Mt. Calvary COGIC but he loved any kind of church. Some of his favorite things to do  consist of watching sport ranging from track & field, tennis, football and basketball.

He was an excellent bowler and could shoot pool better than any of his competitors. He loved music and singing in his baritone voice. He was the jungle gym for all of his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great –nephews alike. George was preceded in death by his parents and 2 Sisters, Delois Hamilton and Doris Stockton as well as 2 Nephews but leaves to cherish his memory, George Frederick Jr. (Angelina), Joyce Allen (HBG), Donna Newton (Wesley), Andrea Martin and Rashawn Baskerville, His siblings, Eveline Cooksey, Roseanna Cooksey, Reginald Mitchell (Lillie) and Gloria Chase, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
