Geneva Garrard

Geneva Garrard was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee on November 27, 1940, to the late Charles and Eva Latham. On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, she entered into eternal rest surrounded by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade T. Garrard, her son, Edward Garrard; and siblings Charles “Booty” Latham and Betty Hall of Sweetwater, TN, Pauline Hammond of Chicago, IL, and Juanita McCowan of Niota, TN.

Geneva was a kind and generous soul, always willing to help those in need in any way she could. She dedicated 35 years of hard work and commitment to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, rising through the ranks before retiring.

Outside of her career, Geneva found joy in spending time with her family and friends. She was also an avid gardener, with a remarkable ability to transform any garden into a masterpiece. She was a fantastic cook who prepared meals that left lasting impressions on those she loved. She was also a Steph Curry and Golden State Warriors fanatic.

She is survived by her three grandchildren: Andre Jackson of Harrisburg, PA, Micah Golden of Columbus, OH, and Kristin Garrard of Philadelphia, PA; six great-grandchildren; her brother Otis Latham of Sweetwater, TN; and many other cherished family members and friends, including her longtime friend, Ellis Young of Bressler, PA.

Geneva’s love, kindness, and compassion will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed and will always remain in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc., located at 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Viewing is from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be in Sweetwater, Tennessee.
