FRANCES LOUISE MORTON-WILKERSON was the daughter of the late John Archie and late Augusta Morton-Archie of Harrisburg, PA.
She received her formal education in the Steelton Highspire School District. She graduated in the year of 1957. Frances was a loving and dedicated wife of late Melvin E. Wilkerson, Sr. They entered Holy matrimony in November 1958. Frances was an employee at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. She was very dedicated to her job and enjoyed working. She retired as Supervisor in her division and worked well over 30 years of service.
Frances loved her family, especially her son Jay and daughter Lisa. Frances was a very faithful, dedicated Mother. She would do anything in the world for her children. She loved spending birthdays and holidays or just having fun cookouts and parties at her home with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as her cousins and other family members. Frances loved cooking and preparing food, always invited everyone over to eat making everyone feel welcomed or at home. Her food was so delicious that it could make you want to smack somebody. When you called to ask how she was doing, Frances would talk about what was happening during her day, her week, and things that she enjoyed. She also had a listening ear and encouraging words for the ones that she loved or needed it. Frances had a smile that would light up any room she was present in. She had a gift to talk, and she could make you laugh without stopping for hours. Frances was always a joy to be around. She also didn’t bite her tongue when she had something to say that was very important to her, she told it just like it was.
Frances transitioned into eternal life on October 3rd, 2021, at 12:30 PM at The Gardens of West Shore Nursing Home.
Those left to cherish fond memories are her son Melvin (Jay) E. Wilkerson, Jr. and her daughter Lisa M. Wilkerson, grandsons Jay Wilkerson and Jordan Wilkerson, granddaughter Breanna Wilkerson and her great-grandchildren Jaymeir Wilkerson, Jayannie Solomen, Jayce (King) Wilkerson and Ezaih Wilkerson and host of cousins, other family members and friends.
We know it's hard to lose a God sent mother, grandmother, great grandmother, family member and friend. Especially as Frances Louise Morton-Wilkerson. Frances has a brand-new body and will feel no more pain, suffering or harm as she rests in Our Father’s Arms in heaven. We are sure that she will receive a “Well done, good, and faithful servant, enter into your rest”.
Lovingly submitted by the family
