Florence E. Parson Obituary

Florence E. Parson, 93, of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on April 13, 2018.  She was the only daughter of the late Charles and Neolia Erwin and predeceased by her husband, Harry J. Parson.

Florence retired from the Commonwealth of PA as an administrative assistant with more than 25 years of service.  She volunteered at Pinnacle Hospital in Harrisburg and, when in Maryland for extended visits, she volunteered at Kemp Mill Elementary School.  She was a member of Capital Presbyterian Church and, when in Maryland attended Valley Brook Community Church.

She enjoyed cats, writing poetry, crossword puzzles, watching horror movies and reading books by one of her favorite authors, Stephen King.  She also enjoyed playing the piano and, for a brief time, served as organist at Capital.  She also sang in the choir.  One of her passions was having someone massage her scalp and rub her shoulders, especially late in life.

She leaves to celebrate her life, daughters Katherine Prince (Guy) and Neolia Parson.  She has 3 grandchildren (Rene, Joshua and Zoe) and 5 great grandchildren (Erika, Isaac, Jayla, London, and Saige).
