Fleming Douglas Hoyle Jr. died March 28, 2014 after a battle with bladder cancer. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on January 26, 1944, he was preceded in death by his parents Fleming (Ben) Douglas Hoyle Sr. and Ernestine Louise (Generals) Hoyle. After graduating from G.A.R. High School in 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Doug was a professional drummer all of his adult life. He started out playing with local bands in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area which eventually led to him playing the drums internationally for James Brown, Natalie Cole, KC & The Sunshine Band, Cameo, Sam & Dave and the Presidents. He also organized a local Harrisburg R&B group called Joust. He finished his love for music playing in the regionally acclaimed blues band â The Don Johnson Project. Doug was an active member of the Blues Society of Central PA. Next to his love for music was his love for selling cars. He was a successful new and used car salesman for several area dealerships ending with Brenner Nissan. He is survived by his sister Charlotte (Hoyle) Murry of Harrisburg, PA; sons Anthony Douglas Hoyle (wife Calsin) of Gainesville, VA and Fleming Douglas Hoyle III (wife Colleen) of Harrisburg, PA. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Tina Mundorf and her children, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a niece and 2 great-nieces and a host of family and friends.
