Elsie Mae Hood-Fields, age 95, devoted widow of Kenneth Fields passed peacefully March 14th in Ridge Crest, CA, under the vigilant care of her grand-daughter Linda Carter and family.
Elsie was born April 21, 1911 in Romney, WV, to the late Effie Washington and William Morgan.
She married the late William Hood in 1932, this union resulted in the blessing birth of the late Delores Hood Pruitt, William (Junie) and Roy Hood. In 1981 she married Edward Kenny Fields of Harrisburg. This union blessed her with four step children, the late Donald Fields, Janet Levi, Kenneth Fields and Wayne Fields.
Amongst her mourners are William and Roy Hood and their families; grandchildren, Christine Barlow, who she raised, Linda Carter, Robin Hood, and Stefon Hood; three step children Janet Levi, Kenneth B. and Wayne Fields; cousin Helen (Patti) Jackson; and numerous grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by stepfather, George Staley, sister Dorothy Amos, daughter Delores, and stepson Donald Fields.
Her service will be held in her church the Locust Lane Mennonite Chapel. 2415 Locust Lane, on Saturday,March 24th at 11 a.m. with viewing at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Kenneth Fields in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
