Eleanor Harrison

November 9, 1951 — April 13, 2024

Eleanor Harrison

Eleanor Harrison was born on November 9, 1951 in Manhattan, New York, the first born to the union of Mary and Alfonzo Williams. She was raised in Poughkeepsie, New York and received her formal education there.  After relocating to Harrisburg, PA, she gained employment as a nursing assistant, and retired from Dauphin Manor after 20 years of service.

Mother Harrison was known as an extraordinary cook, she enjoyed watching movies, going to church and spending time with her family and friends. She initially joined Shiloh, Church of God in Christ under the late Pastor Carl E Hines Jr and Mother Thewantha Hines, where she was saved and served there for 15 years. Later she went on to work in ministry, at God's Knowledge Center under the Leadership of Apostle Stanley and Lady Roberta Brown.  There she received her Evangelist License and installation as church mother and became the Mother of the Church. She would also fellowship in the community at Higher-Level Church, Apostle Donald Crawley, and Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Trey. You could always find her given God, the praise, no matter what. She served the community in so many capacities. She was known to start Bible Study at the YMCA also at Dauphin Manor, which still remains.  She was well known to help anyone in time of hardship.

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, with her family beside her, Evangelist Eleanor Harrison transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life. The Lord determined it was time for her to come home and she moved from labor to reward. Eleanor was proceeded in death, by Mary and Alfonzo Williams Sr., her husband Arnold, and her sister Ida Earle Davis. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children; Roberta Payne Brown (Stanley), of Harrisburg, PA, Melinda Durham (Dean) of Elgin, SC, Terrlyn Jamison (Charles, deceased) of Harrisburg, PA,  Larry Steele of Elizabethtown, PA. Siblings; Alphonso (Dorothea) Williams Jr., Darlene (Wilfred) Gordon, and Barbara (Anthony) Woods. Twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The grandchildren; Dominic Jr., Dillon, Frank, Brittny, Terrell, Geovanna, Justin, Alaysia, Dionte, Joy, Arianna, and Theodore. A host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends, Mrs. Magdalene of New York, Ms. Debra of SC, and Evg Jackie of Pennsylvania.

We know it hurts to lose a God sent mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, Aunt, family member, and friends, as special as Mother Harrison.  To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We are sure that she will receive a “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into your rest.” Lovingly, submitted by the family.
