Donald E. Jones Sr

When I come to the end of my journey and traveled my last weary mile." Donald E. Jones Sr., 60, of Harrisburg, passed peacefully at home on June 18, 2011 with his family at his side. Donald was the son of the late Beulah Jones and also proceeded in death by his sister Gail Ann Stephenson. Donald retired as an Administrator for Farm Workers Administration. He was a member of Harris AME Church, Unity Lodge # 71; he loved music, softball and animals. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Shepherd-Jones, his children, Sonja Houston of Harrisburg, Donald E. Jones, Jr. of Florida, Rebecca Sumler of Harrisburg , Jennifer Jones of California, their mother, Mary A. Houston, Rebecca (Andre) Sumler of Harrisburg, Ricardo (Crissey) Shepherd and Jessie Shepherd also of Harrisburg, siblings, Janice (Leon) Tucker, Leonard Stephenson, William and Patricia Stephenson all of Florida, 12 grandchildren and a host of sister-in-laws, family and friends. Services will be held at his church, 915 N. 17th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17103 on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m., Elk Services at 10:30 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery. Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. is caring for and handling arrangements for Mr. Jones.
