Desmond Warren, 67 of Harrisburg, was born on November 28, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to his parents, the late Plummer Askew and Dorothy (Warren) Pitman. In addition to his parents, Dez is predeceased in death by his sisters, Celestine and Donna Warren, brothers, Tyrone, Terry, Cortez, and Darnell Little, and son, Spencer Brown.
Dez was educated in the Philadelphia School Systems for 16 years and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA.
Dez was business savvy at a very young age, for example, he sold newspapers that provided him an income. Being self-sufficient paid for his last year of college. He worked for the PSFS bank in Philadelphia and filed taxes for patrons for several years before becoming disabled. The “Coolest Dez’s ” favorite pastime was listening and playing music. He was a DJ for any requesting audience, including himself. Dez loved R&B Oldies, Heavy Metal, and Jazz. His favorite bands were “Kiss”, “WAR” and “Earth, Wind and Fire”. Dez loved singing and playing the electric piano in the band he started in North Philly, called the “Lick Me Band”. He enjoyed attending live concerts all over the country as well. Dez was an advent Philadelphia sports fan, attending the Eagles games with his sons and brothers despite his failing illness.
Dez was not the easiest to get along with at times and he spoke his mind on what he thought of you. In his last years he became humble and caring for all, especially his family. He hosted the last Warren Family Cookout where we all smiled throughout the event. Dez joined the Choice Community Christian Church in Harrisburg, PA, and served on the Usher and Hospitality Ministries. In addition, he loved his Spiritual Advisor Reverend Little and his church family.
Desmond is survived by sons Desmond Jr. and Bryant Warren, Daughters Tyesha and Carman Brown and Goddaughter Khelli Britt, brothers Michael and Victoria Warren and Talmadge and Tamara Warren, Vartez, Ronald, and Timothy Little, Sisters Linda and JoAnn Little, Minister Tawanna Jackson and Jeremiah Jackson, and Tracy Warren, 22 Grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
