Constance Ann Grier passed away at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital on June 18, 2024.
Connie (as she was known) was the last surviving offspring of the late James and Pearl Allen Grier. She was born on February 14, 1938, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Connie was educated in the Harrisburg Public School System and graduated from the former William Penn High School, Class of 1956. She was employed by and retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with over 41 years of dedicated service.
Connie's favorite pastimes were shopping (mall shopping, yard sales, and thrift shops). She also enjoyed traveling (bus trips, field trips) and attending cultural events (plays, concerts, seminars).
In her younger years, she had a passion for taking pictures with what are now considered vintage cameras (Brownie, Kodak Instamatic, and various Polaroid models). In her later years, she immersed herself in watching television evangelists. Connie was a member of the Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church.
Connie was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, James Jr. (Bro), David (Teddy), and Joseph (Bo); and three sisters, Sarah and Rosella Grier, and Marion Brooks. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Blake Alan Grier; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five generations of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
