Constance Barreto

Constance R. Barreto, affectionately known as Connie, passed peacefully at Hershey Medical Center on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family as her transition from this life to her new life.  She was the daughter of the late Clifton Young and Sylvia Smyser and predeceased by her sister, Kelly Mosten. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on January 28, 1960 and was one of ten children.

Connie worked for American Power Conversion, Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg and Snap on Tools. She was woman of many talents and flourished in her various positions.  She enjoyed comedy; especially standup - laughter for her was a way of healing, food was comforting and good for her soul; music brought her joy, kept her vibrant and youthful. Connie was and avid news reader and watched it faithfully on television. She was always making sure that everyone around her knew what was going on in the world, so that they stayed woke, this was very important to her.

In addition, Connie was faithful to the end, if she could help in any way or give advice; she was always in your corner. Often when we tried to comfort her, she became a comfort to us – her campfire stories were her testimony, but to us they were uplifting and encouraging. She inspired us all to be a better version of ourselves.

Connie will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Moises Barreto, her loving children; Shelly Powell, Shanell, Darnell Jr., Siedah Crawford, 7 grandchildren, her siblings; Jimmy, Theresa, Michael, Tiny, Carl, Daniel, Missy and Vickie and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be celebrated by all who loved her and adored her.
