Clinton E. Mitchell Jr.

Clinton "Buck" Mitchell Jr., 80, passed peacefully on June 8, 2022. He was born and raised in Colerain, North Carolina to the late Clinton Mitchell Sr. and Corrain Mitchell. Buck served in the Army as an M.P. and was a member of the Elks Lodge 71 and Lingo Memorial COGIC. He worked as Head Freight conductor for Conrail Railroad for over 30 years. Buck enjoyed playing cards, fishing, visiting casinos, and socializing with family and friends.

Buck will be greeted at Heaven’s Gates with open arms by his wife Christine Mitchell and warm-felt hugs by his fellow siblings, Alice McBride, Dorothy Mitchell, and Clarence Mitchell. Buck is survived by his children; daughter, Margaret Giles; sons, Clinton Mitchell III, Elmer Mitchell, Jeremiah Mitchell, daughter-in-law Shante Mitchell; and a host of grand, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that became family over the years. Clinton is also preceded in death by his companion Edna Moston.
