Clarence C. Coates

Clarence C. “Coatsie” Coates, 78 of Harrisburg passed peacefully on November 2, 2014. He was born in Carlisle, PA to the late James Coates and Helen Bell Coates. Clarence was educated in the Carlisle area School District. He attended Harrisburg Area Community College for two years and served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Bethlehem Steel Mill and as a contractor throughout the Harrisburg area, he retired in 2002. Along with his parents he is preceded by his 4 brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Helen Cedora Greene (Joseph), children; Tyrell Chanler Coates Sr., Brian Dwayne Coates Sr., Minister Helen Coates-Jones, Syble Wilkins, Cynthia Coates-Hickerson, (James), 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
