Charles W. Harris

Charles William Harris (affectionately known as Billy) was born on October 30th, 1957 in Harrisburg Pa. He was the son of Sallie R. Banks & George M. Banks (Both Predeceased). Birth Father, Wesley Harris. Billy was a multi-instrumentalist and a visual artist. He transitioned this life on Friday, November 25, 2022, near his childhood home as he succumbed to his long-term stronghold.

 

He leaves a caring family, three siblings: Reverend Dred Scott (Kathryn Scott), Denise R. Williams (Gregory Williams Sr.), and Gina M. Barkley (Reverend Scott Barkley), all of Harrisburg Pa. Four living Aunts: Hattie R. Brice, Fannie R. Davis, Constance R. Bookert, and Carrie E.R. Grady, all of South Carolina.  He also had three Nieces, LaKeisha Williams, Shayla Mitchell (Michael Mitchell), Christa Effiong (Andrew Effiong), Three Nephews David Barkley (Indigo Barkley), Gregory Williams, Jr., Lamar Banks (Predeceased), and a host of Grand Nieces/Nephews, Cousins, Other family members, Loved ones and Friends.

 

In the 15th Street & Extended Community, he was reached out to in many ways with acts of love and kindness (where he was also known as Chang, Smiley, and Friendly). A short public service attesting to the truth will be held at Hooper Memorial Funeral home on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 am at 3532 Walnut Street Harrisburg Pa. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19 the Repast and Interment will be private and announced to his close family and friends. The family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to all.
