Charles "Pete" Dayd

"There is a place, I have been told, Beyond an open gate... " Charles "Pete" Dayd, 74, passed suddenly on Monday, October 27, 2008 in Harrisburg Hospital. Mr. Dayd was an Air Force Veteran, he retired from Pennsy Supply Company with 35 years of service, a Steward of Teamster Union Local #776 and he enjoyed bowling and all types of sports. He leaves to celebrate his life and memory his devoted wife, Mary P. Dayd, 3 children; Rick Richardson, Steven Dayd and Darlene Dayd all of Harrisburg, one brother, Conrad Dayd of Nebraska, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Harris AME Church, 915 N. 17th Street, Harrisburg at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. with burial on Monday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. is caring for and handling Mr.Dayd's arrangements.
