August 25, 1921, in College Hill (Cincinnati) Ohio, Bunny Leslie was the third daughter of Jesse D. Locker and Anna F. Locker (both deceased). She had 4 siblings: Mary Hines, Vivian Hall, Juanita Ivie (all deceased) and Preston Locker. Bunny graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nannie Helen Burroughs School in Washington D.C.
Bunny was Saved at the age of 12 and remained a strong Christian throughout her life. She passed this belief on to all of her children.
When she was a teenager, she work as a secretary for her Dad's law firm. She had fond memories of her Dad, Jesse Locker, a former City Councilman in Cincinnati, Ohio. She spoke often of her Dad's appointment, by President Dwight Eisenhower, to an ambassadorship in Liberia, Africa.
She was married to the late Oliver W. Leslie, Sr., for almost 50 years. From this union 6 children were born: Hallie Porter (husband William), Mary Jo Leslie, Joyce Leslie, Dale Leslie (wife Yulandalee), Oliver Leslie Jr., and Robert Leslie.
When Oliver and Bunny Leslie lived in Pleasant Plain, Ohio, she began working at Stonelick State Park for the State of Ohio. She also worked for various government offices in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a retiree of the State of Ohio.
She leaves behind many friends, relatives, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bunny was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. There will always be an empty spot in our lives, but we know she is rejoicing in Heaven with those we loved who have already gone home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Services are being held privately at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. on May 20, 2020 with burial in Ohio. www.hooperfuneral.com
