Brenda House-Barrett

Brenda “Breeze” House-Barrett, 77 of Steelton passed peacefully on August 11, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Nestene House.

Brenda was a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School and was employed by the State of Pennsylvania for many years. She was very active in the employee union. She was a lifelong member of Monumental A.M.E. Church in Steelton

Brenda was a very talented woman, an author, actor, playwright and was a maker of one-of-a-kind jewelry. She was most known as being a “fashionista”.

She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Sheba Chapter #33, a member of the Senior Citizens Guild of The First Baptist Church of Steelton where she served as Treasurer, founding member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Harrisburg Chapter and the Central PA Pancreatic Cancer Support Group.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children; Tomalynn George of Steelton PA, granddaughter Brailynn T.B. George of Steelton, PA, Timothy (Gloria) George of Sacramento, CA, Anthony George of Sacramento, CA, siblings; Vincent L. (Charlene) House of Harrisburg, PA, Ina C. Alcendor of Steelton, PA, Janice N. House of Steelton, PA, Leonard L House of Harrisburg, PA, Albert J. (Joan) House of Landsdale, PA, special friends and caretakers; Connie Platter, Leslie Waters, Kania Jackson, Natasha Hubbard, Kim Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
