Beverly Waters

Beverly Anne Hartley Waters passed peacefully into eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family on July 22, 2021. Born August 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Hartley Sr, and Sara Appleberry Hartley Splawn; she was the stepdaughter of John F. Splawn.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Ronald Appleberry and Harold Hartley; stepbrothers John and Roger Splawn; former husband Earl Waters Sr.

Left to mourn her passing are her four children - Earl Waters, Jr. (Deborah Reeves-Waters) Tanya Waters, Dwan Waters and Kenneth Waters (Faye Menard-Waters); her brothers Samuel Hartley Jr., Joseph Hartley, Charles Splawn, and sisters Charlotte Splawn Glover, Patricia Splawn Brown, Cynthia Splawn; granddaughters Danielle Smith, Melanie Waters Broussard, Marina Waters, Taylor Waters, Tyrah Waters and Yariel Arter; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Beverly was an employee of Capital Blue Cross/Blue Shield for many years and retired from Suburban Cable. She was a member of the CATALYST Cancer Survivor Support Group, attended Baptist Fellowship Church and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. For most of her life she was a gifted athlete beginning in high school where she was a leading scorer on the Field Hockey team. She was a league team bowler and a golfer; she enjoyed socializing, baking, sewing, shopping and traveling. Beverly was known for her beautiful sense of style.

Family was the most important thing in Beverly’s life. She was always a great supporter and number one fan of her children and grandchildren. She willingly sacrificed her own comfort to put their needs first. Beverly loved her family and her family loved her. We will miss her Christmas cookies, her helping hand and her warm hospitality. She will always remain in our hearts.
