Bernice Wilkerson

"Once in a lifetime you find a friend who not only touches your heart but also your soul" Bernice Wilkerson 78 of North 4th Street passed peacefully in the Stone Bridge Nursing Home September 1st. She was a housewife and a member of The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves to mourn seven children Fannie Mae Williams, Nina (husband Wayne Wallace Sr.), Grace Sinkler, Melodye Smith, John W. Smith, Walter Hosch Smith and Booker T. Knight. Bernice also leaves numerous grand and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters John, Joseph and Mabel Smith; also Pearle Ragsdale, Grace Knight, Louise Bradley and Romance Gordon. Services will be held in her church The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church 212 North Progress Ave. Friday September 5th at 11AM with viewing at 10AM.
