Barry C. McCollum

Barry C. McCollum, 59 of Highspire, passed peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2020. He was the son of the late Henry and Martha McCollum and predeceased by a sister Emma Bentley. Barry enjoyed fishing, detailing cars and sharing time with family and friends. He leaves behind his children; Barry Jr. and Crischan McCollum, Daneshia Wilson and Angela Franklin, his siblings; Albert (Paulette) McCollum of Tennessee, Shannon McCollum of Harrisburg, Faye Thomas of Alabama, Cynthia (William) Ray of NC, Veronica Palmer of Harrisburg, Sharon (Danny) Randle of NC, Angelia (Robert) Williams of Harrisburg and Jennifer McCollum of NC, 6 grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Services to be held at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11 a.m., viewing 10:00 a.m. All Covid-19 restrictions will be in place, the service will be invitation only, with on-line streaming at www.hooperfuneral.com

GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED

God saw you getting tired

When a cure was not to be.

So He wrapped His arms around you,

And whispered, “Come unto me”.

You didn’t deserve what you went through,

And so he gave you rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful,

He only takes the best.

So when I saw you sleeping,

So peaceful and free from pain.

I could not wish you to come back,

To suffer that all again.
