Barbara Ann Lawson, age 63, wife of the former Warden of Dauphin County Prison, John Calvin Lawson, passed away from this life on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at the Harrisburg Hospital after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Barb, affectionately known as Bobbi by family and friends, was born in Washington, DC. She was a member of St. Francis Parish, and a faithful worker and Board Member at the South Central PA Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation. She was a retired Medical Assistant with Community Medical Associates, Past Board Member of the Arthritis Foundation, and Consultant for the Patient-Partner Program at Searle Pharmaceutical. She was a graduate of John Harris High School and the Medical Arts Academy. She is pre-deceased by her parents Herbert and Lillie Carter. She leaves to mourn, in addition to her loving Husband, John Calvin, her children William (Bill III) Green and his wife, Belinda, and daughter Shevette D. Beamer of Harrisburg, and daughter, Joyell (Joy) C. Lawson of Brookhaven PA, her grandchildren; Vincent Beamer, Dimitri Green-Kniss, Terrence Beamer, Bjana Beamer, Tejal Beamer; her Aunt, Mrs. Margaret Tibbs from Washington, DC; her best friend, Ms. Geri Ramsey; several cousins from Brooklyn NY, Rochester NY, New Jersey, Virginia and Washington DC and a host of other relatives and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held at Hooper Memorial Home Inc., 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to: South Central Sickle Cell Council, 3211 North Front Street, Suite 103, Harrisburg, PA 17110
