Angel Ojea, 70, passed away on May 22, 2024, in Reading, PA.
Angel Ojea was born on June 20, 1953 in Manhattan, NY, to the late Ricardo Ojea Sr and Carmen Andrea Ojea.
Angel graduated from Reading High School in 1971. He worked in construction for many years, and was a Security Officer for the Berks County Courthouse, before he retired.
Angel married the late Helen "Sundee" Ojea on February 14, 1990 in Harrisburg. The couple had 1 child, Akieto Ojea, of Reading.
Angel was best known for his love of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and kayaking, and just listening to the sounds of nature. He loved to play chess and would challenge anyone to a game. He was a Black Belt in Karate and loved to show off his moves. He was also a Scout Leader in Troop 40 of Harrisburg for many years and worked for the Hawk Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America, in Reading.
Angel also served in the US Marines, US Army Reserve, and the PA National Guard for a total of 27 years of service to his country.
Angel is survived by his two sons; Akieto Ojea, (Claribel) of Reading, Angel L. Ojea Jr., (Mignely) of Allentown; brother, John L. Ojea of Orwigsburg; brother, Antonio Ojea of Texas; brother, George Ojea of Reading; brother, Nelson Ojea (Robin) of Shillington; sister, Evelyn M. Ojea of Maryland; brother, Irvin Ojea of Reading; brother, Ricardo E. Ojea Jr. of Fleetwood; brother, Dale S. Ojea (Suzette) of Camp Hill; granddaughter, Eve Ojea of Allentown and God Daughter, Alisha Lefever of Shillington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
