Alfred Smith

Alfred L. Smith 71 of Harrisburg transitioned peacefully at his home on August 27, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born on August 31, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Addie Smith-Lewis and Leon Lewis and was the eldest of eleven children. He was also predeceased by one sibling, his sister Marie Brooks.

Alfred retired from the Pinnacle Health Systems as a Maintenance Technician with several years of service. He was also a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church; and had served as a Trustee, Usher Board Member, Men of Allen, participated in the Van Ministry and was also a member of the Sanctuary Choir and Mass Choir. He loved serving the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his natural family and his church family.

Alfred affectionately known as Al, was always on duty, no matter the time of day or the weather, the church could always depend on Al. He showed his love of God and to the church through his dedication, love, devotion and due diligence.

Alfred leaves to celebrate his life and memory his daughter, Yvette Smith, his son Gavin Roebuck-Smith and step-son, Todd Cofield, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, his siblings, Geraldine Washington, Beverly Lewis, Angela Lewis, Eugene Lewis, Anthony Lewis and Leon Lewis Jr., Bernadine Hubbard, Alvin Smith and James Smith, in addition to a host of relatives, his church family and friends.
